Several of Dr. Jan Van Eys’ significant accomplishments related to the advancement of cancer care and patient advocacy are highlighted. The first clip describes his role in the establishment of the Annual Mental Health Conferences. The second clip reviews Dr. Van Eys’ philosophy and opinions regarding what constitutes a fully cured pediatric cancer patient. Jan Van Eys, M.D., Ph.D. moved from the Netherlands to the United States to study biochemistry at Vanderbilt University where he received his Ph.D. in 1955.
